Giving & Stewardship

Stewardship is about being grateful and responsible stewards of the gifts we have received from God. Our Church cannot operate without your financial support.  Your contributions help define what the church can do with what God has provided. Donations and pledges are accepted at any time. But we see stewardship as more than simply contributing money to the church; it’s also about contributing time and talents, and volunteering for ministry and mission. It’s about building relationships from a perspective of abundance, instead of scarcity.

Annual Pledge

Most parishioners choose to pledge an amount that they will give over the course of a year to support the church.  A “pledge” is different from a “donation” because a pledge is a promised gift rather than an immediate one. In the fall, St. Mary’s WhitcChapel launches a pledge drive campaign to encourage this type of financial support for the church, which is essential to planning our annual budget.  As you consider your annual pledge, we hope to encourage one another to remember the abundance with which we have been blessed by God, and to give freely from that abundance.

Please visit our 2023 Stewardship page for more information and pledge forms.

Targeted Donations

During the course of the year, we have special collections for specific purposes. Such as:

  • The Rector’s Discretionary Fund (used to help local community members in need)

  • The Upper Lancaster Food Pantry

  • School Supplies

Time and Talents

There are many opportunities to provide your time and talents to support the ministry and mission of St. Mary’s Whitechapel. From serving as an Usher or on Altar Guild, providing food for after church coffee hour, building and maintaining the trails, or serving on one of the boards or committees. Please consider how you can help out. Contact us at the church office if interested.
